Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. seeks a Service Manager for the Power & HVAC division in West Chester, OH. You will lead a team of Service Technicians and Equipment Associates, overseeing preventive maintenance, repairs, and performance metrics to ensure safe operation and readiness for rental.

You will collaborate with the Branch Manager to build a profitable location, applying maintenance processes, warranty knowledge, and strong customer service to maximize uptime and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of operations and shop management experience with background in repairing and maintaining the equipment stated above.
• Intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems.
• Advanced knowledge of heavy equipment, the manufacturers’ warranty process, and the work order / time spent accounting process.
• Experience on diesel, hydraulic and electrical systems that allows for independent assessment and diagnosis in most situations.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong motivational and leadership skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance accounting and P&L.
• Basic computer skills (Excel)

• Supervise preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
• Motivate, coach and train technicians to meet time & quality standards.
• Supervise Service Technicians, ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Build strong customer relationships through high quality and timely service.
• Manage shop operating expenses.
• Lead, plan, measure and improve all service and maintenance performance metrics.
• Meet regularly with Branch Managers to discuss problems and solutions.

You’ll have the opportunity to hire and motivate an amazing team of Service Technicians and Equipment Associates. You will maintain and repair a variety of specialty rental equipment and support assets assigned to the Power/HVAC fleet to ensure safe operation and readiness for rental.
