Job summary

Altorfer Cat in West Branch, Iowa seeks an experienced leader to manage their AG Service Department. Job description

Responsibilities
  • Experienced, safety minded leader to manage the AG Service Department and shop personnel.
  • Provide leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operations while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate strong customer communication skills and the ability to manage and motivate a large, diverse workforce.
  • Assist customers and technicians with repairs and define the scope of work to ensure expectations are met.
  • Assist shop personnel, PSSRs, and customers with quoting, opening, closing, and invoicing work orders.
  • Oversee technician productivity and performance, including annual reviews and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Promote safety in the workplace and help lead technical and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • 2‑4 year college degree in business or 2 years of previous experience in service supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engine, hydraulic, electrical, and undercarriage systems.
  • Knowledge of AGCO and Lexion Equipment and Technical Training preferred.
  • Ability to express ideas and influence others positively to accomplish long‑term goals.
  • Ability to write professional business communication by email or letter is required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and willingness to work some Saturdays.
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs.
  • Computer literate, PC experience with Microsoft, Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years; a Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on the final candidate).
Schedule

8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday‑Friday, rotating Saturdays.

Physical Requirements

This position works in an office environment and in the service shop. May, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk for a long period, handle telephone calls, and write or use a keyboard to communicate. May, on a continuous basis, be on the shop floor supporting service operations. Noise level in the shop environment is usually moderate, and in the office environment is usually low. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional local travel may be required.
