Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Pleasanton, CA is seeking an experienced operations manager to oversee the fire sprinkler service department from sale through implementation and customer retention. You will lead daily workflows, manage service and upgrade projects for commercial and residential systems, verify inspections, and coordinate with engineers and site contacts on status and completion.

Required NFPA knowledge, NICET certification preferred, and proven fire sprinkler industry experience;

Qualifications

• NICET certification(s) preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards (including 70 and 72) required.
• Proven fire sprinkler industry experience required.
• CalFire Fitter Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
• Provides constructive, timely performance evaluations.
• Leads teams on service and upgrade projects for fire sprinkler systems.
• Verifies inspection reports and documents issues.
• Communicates work status to engineers and site contacts.
• Responds to emergency service calls.

This position is responsible for overseeing the operations and production of the branch’s fire sprinkler service department from point of sale through implementation and customer retention.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Requires the ability to act in a lead capacity and manage teams or groups of individuals on projects.
• Manage service and upgrade projects for fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings.
• Verify inspection reports, documenting any issues.
• Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Protect and maintain company equipment.
• Meet with building engineers, property management and/or site contacts upon arrival to facility to notify of work status and again upon conclusion of workday.
• Verify integrity of all work prior to tying-in to building’s fire sprinkler system.
• Manage repair projects as needed to ensure a fully compliant fire sprinkler system.
• Inspect trucks and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety instructions for that equipment.
• Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from the office or job site.
• Must be flexible with scheduling requirements.
• Requires the ability to display knowledge of principles, practices, codes and regulations related to the work.
• Requires the ability to display knowledge of basic practices of reviewing official documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Requires the ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs.
• Requires the ability to interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
• Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
• Respond to emergency service calls.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Education/Qualification:

• NICET certification(s) preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards (including 70 and 72) required.
• Proven fire sprinkler industry experience required.
• CalFire Fitter Certification preferred.

Other Duties:

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
• Ability to travel when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Pay Rate:

• $110k – $140k Salary DOE
