Job summary

Davalyn Corporation in the United States is seeking a Service Manager to lead field service for our fiber laser cutting equipment and related metal fabrication systems.

You will diagnose complex problems, coordinate field resources, provide training and ongoing technical support, and travel regularly to customer facilities nationwide.

This role offers a base salary with a performance-based annual bonus and relocation assistance to support the right candidate.

Job description

We are recruiting a Service Manager for a growing industrial equipment manufacturer supporting advanced metal fabrication technology throughout the United States.

This opportunity is well suited for someone with strong, hands‑on fiber laser experience who is ready to take on broader responsibility for technical service, customer support, troubleshooting, and field operations.

Candidates do not necessarily need to come from a current Service Manager position. We are interested in experienced Applications Engineers, Field Service Engineers, Service Technicians, CNC/Laser Programmers, Maintenance Technicians, Operators, Machinists, and other technical professionals who have developed substantial hands‑on knowledge of fiber laser cutting equipment.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide technical leadership for field service activities supporting metal fabrication equipment across the U.S.
• Apply hands‑on fiber laser knowledge to help diagnose equipment problems, resolve difficult technical issues, and minimize customer downtime.
• Organize field resources and technical priorities to support equipment startups, repairs, scheduled service, and other customer needs.
• Serve as a technical resource for customers and service personnel when mechanical, electrical, controls, or machine‑performance issues arise.
• Support customers with equipment operation, troubleshooting, training, and ongoing technical needs.
• Bring together internal technical and operational resources when complex equipment issues require additional support.
• Help strengthen service practices, technical training, and troubleshooting methods as the service organization continues to develop.
• Use experience from the field to recognize equipment trends, improve troubleshooting practices, and strengthen future customer support.
• Develop strong working relationships with metal fabricators, manufacturers, job shops, and other industrial customers.

Preferred Background:

• Hands‑on fiber laser experience is required.
• Strong technical understanding of fiber laser cutting systems, with experience involving machine operation, applications, programming, installation, maintenance, service, diagnostics, or troubleshooting.
• Experience with CNC press brakes and/or robotic welding systems is highly valuable.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, automation, and machine troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience may come from an equipment manufacturer, machine tool builder or distributor, field service organization, or an end‑user metal fabrication/manufacturing environment.
• Relevant backgrounds may include Applications Engineering, Field Service, Technical Service, Maintenance, CNC/Laser Programming, Machine Operation, Machining, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Leadership experience is valuable, although candidates who have mentored, trained, or served as a technical resource for others will also be considered.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and explaining technical issues and solutions.
• Ability to travel regularly to customer facilities throughout the United States.
• $80,000–$90,000 base salary, depending on experience
