Job summary

Key Motors of South Burlington is seeking a motivated Service Technician to join our South Burlington dealership. You will perform repairs and diagnostics on vehicles, test components with diagnostic tools, and communicate with the Service Advisor to provide accurate repair estimates.

Growth opportunities exist within the service department. The role requires ASE certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to learn new technologies and repair procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ASE Certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Service Technician experience (preferred).
• B level qualifications including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair.
• Dexterity with steady hand and good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to learn new technology and service procedures.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor to inform customers if additional service is needed and provide an estimate of repair time.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealership standards
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment

• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
