Job summary

Burwell Material Handling, a provider of smarter, safer material handling solutions, is seeking a Service Manager based in Richmond, Virginia. You will lead experienced technicians, train new ones, and foster a safety-first culture while driving service performance, repeat business, and team coordination.

Responsibilities include managing the Service Department, guiding budgets and marketing plans, implementing process improvements, and collaborating with leadership to shape strategy.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of management experience in machinery or a related service industry.
• Strong leadership and team development experience.
• Proven ability to grow service revenue and improve customer satisfaction.
• Technical knowledge and experience assisting with equipment diagnostics.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to analyze reports and drive continuous improvement.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable DMV record.
• Ability to perform and support the physical demands of service operations.

About The Service Manager Role

We are hiring a Service Manager based in Richmond, Virgina who takes pride in building and maintaining a safe, high-performing team. You’ll lead experienced techs, train new ones, and foster a culture built on trust, hard work, and pride in doing things the right way—with safety always at the forefront. The Service Manager oversees service performance, repeat business, and team coordination, all backed by a crew that takes pride in their work.
