Run an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. Ensure that the daily inventory of technician's time is consistently sold to service customers.
The Service Manager reports directly to the General Manager but has a secondary responsibility to the Vice President of the department. All Service Department Personnel report directly to the Service Manager.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department; also directly supervises 20-30 non-supervisory employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Valid Driver’s License required; must meet company insurability standards.
Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain within first six months required; must meet company insurability standards
