Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations.
Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform manual work which does not require a high degree of manipulative skill or an acquired skill or previous experience. Work is generally performed under the immediate direction of a supervisor, but many types of work assigned may be very routine and repetitive in nature, and after once learned can be carried out with some independence. Employees in the classification may work in support of temporary, casual, or seasonal need of no more than six consecutive months in any 12-month period.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires basic skills in reading and writing and ability to use simple tools and equipment where proficiency is gained in hours or days.
Special Requirements
Some positions require the use of departmental vehicles on departmental business. Individuals must be capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
