Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers if additional service is necessary
  • Execute repairs under warranty according to manufacturer specifications
  • Stay up-to-date with all mechanical certifications, GM/MFG training, and ASE certifications

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Technician with at least 4 years of technical training or equivalent service work experience
  • Certified General Motors Technician background
  • ASE Certifications required
  • B-level qualifications, including diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair
  • Ability to work on transmissions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive, friendly attitude with a customer service mentality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair procedures, and operate electronic diagnostic equipment
