Job summary

OWL Services seeks an experienced Electrical Service Technician to diagnose and repair commercial electrical systems, ensuring facilities run safely and efficiently.

You will read blueprints, follow NEC and OSHA standards, and perform service, maintenance, and troubleshooting on wiring, transformers, and switchgear on a long‑term basis with a growing team.

Qualifications

  • Current Journeyman Electrician License is required.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • 6+ years of hands-on commercial electrical experience is strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of high‑voltage three‑phase circuits, transformers, switchgear, and generators.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems in commercial facilities using field experience.
  • Perform service, repair, and maintenance on wiring, control systems, lighting, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and generators.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures on every job.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to plan service work.
  • Follow NEC standards, state/local codes, and OSHA regulations.
  • Adhere to LOTO programs as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147.
  • Complete daily work orders and timesheets via company iPad.
  • Represent the company professionally with facility managers and customers.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems in commercial facilities using a variety of testing equipment and your field experience
  • Perform service, repair, and maintenance on wiring, control systems, lighting systems, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and generators
  • Adhere to and promote all company safety guidelines, policies, and procedures on every job
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to plan and complete service work
  • Follow NEC standards, applicable state and local codes, and all OSHA safety regulations
  • Adhere to facility lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) programs in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147
  • Complete daily work orders, service reports, and timesheets via company‑issued iPad
  • Represent the company professionally — clear communication with facility managers and customers is a key part of this role
Certifications & Requirements
  • Current Journeyman Electrician License — Required
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record — Required
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification — Preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Experience
  • 6+ years of hands‑on experience in commercial electrical work — strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated background in electrical service work (troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance) strongly preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of high‑voltage three‑phase circuits, transformers, switchgear, and generators
  • Familiarity with LOTO programs and hazardous energy control procedures

  • Strong diagnostic mindset — you identify root causes, not just symptoms
  • Ability to read complex blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
  • Professional communication skills when meeting with customers and facility contacts
  • Excellent time management and accountability — you manage your schedule and meet deadlines

  • Solution‑oriented and organized, even in fast‑paced or high‑pressure situations
  • Flexibility to support after‑hours or weekend service needs when required
