The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Service Forester to manage forestry programs across multiple counties. This position requires expertise in forest management, data analysis, and effective communication. The role involves technical advice for landowners, environmental compliance, and emergency responses, with opportunities for growth and impact on state forestry efforts.
The North Carolina Forest Service is designated as an emergency response Division and is a team of professionals who provide forest protection, resource management and environmental education to the residents and landowners of North Carolina through a variety of programs. The NC Forest Service provides services to the 100 counties in North Carolina
The Service Forester provides professional oversight and expertise in the forest management program to multiple counties in assigned District. Position requires:
Work hours are typically 8-5 M-F. Extended times of readiness will involve evening, holiday, and/or weekend work. Must be available after working hours during fire danger periods and times of emergency response. Overnight travel will be required.

Duty Station Location: 1163 North US Hwy #1, Rockingham, NC 28379
