Job summary

Unicoat Industrial Roofing, a specialized commercial roofing contractor, is seeking a Service Crew Lead to manage day-to-day roofing service calls, repairs, and maintenance across multiple roofing systems. You will diagnose leaks, scope work, and direct crews to ensure quality repairs on the first attempt.

You will enforce safety standards, document job progress, and train technicians to handle complex repairs autonomously while coordinating with clients and office staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial roofing service experience with at least 2 years leading field crews.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial roofing systems including Coatings, EPDM, PVC, TPO, BUR, Modified Bitumen, and low-slope metal.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex roof leaks and determine effective repair solutions.
• Track record of leading service operations with zero OSHA recordables and TRIR under 1.0.
• Experience directing technicians in the field, coordinating work, and meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Experience communicating repair recommendations to building owners or property managers.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose roof leaks and complex repair scenarios, scope the work, and direct the crew to execute repairs correctly the first time.
• Enforce safety standards on every jobsite, including JHA completion, fall protection, and proper PPE use, with a goal of zero OSHA recordables.
• Identify and document additional repair opportunities on site and communicate recommendations clearly to customers and the office.
• Ensure complete jobsite documentation (photos, repair summaries, job notes) is submitted within 24 hours to support accurate invoicing.
• Train and develop service technicians, building their ability to diagnose and complete complex repairs independently over time.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and remain on feet for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, and varying weather conditions.
• Comfort working on commercial roof systems and in elevated or confined work areas.
