Rush Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Shop Foreman to lead a team of diesel technicians at our Houston facility. You will recruit, mentor, schedule, and assign work to ensure high-quality repairs and efficient shop operations.

This role emphasizes leadership, safety, and ongoing staff development within a dynamic commercial vehicle service environment. You will oversee daily repair orders, coordinate with the Service Manager, and conduct road tests to verify outcomes, while monitoring

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years’ related shop and technician supervision experience.
• Insurability with Company’s carrier.
• Preferred: ASE Master Certification, Diamond Certification, or OEM certifications (Cat, Cummins, Eaton, Fuller).

Responsabilidades

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist mechanics with skill development under the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technicians by skill level.
• Ensure fair work distribution among mechanics.
• Provide technical support as needed.
• Monitor progress of each repair order daily.
• Perform quality checks and minimize comebacks.
• Road test vehicles to verify quality of work.
• Track mechanics’ daily productivity and payroll.

Foreman Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist diesel mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technician(s) to mechanical segments that match their skill level to ensure quality.
• Ensure that all repairs are assigned to mechanics in an equal and fair manner.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress (W-I-P) of each repair order throughout the day.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks. Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Monitor mechanics’ daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Two years’ related shop and technician supervision experience.
• Insurability with Company’s carrier.
• PLUS IF - ASE Master Certification program; Diamond Certification Program; Cat, Cummins, Eaton, Fuller, or other appropriate manufacturer certifications.

Minimum Pay Rate
