Summary Description
Supervises all day-to-day field operations and activities relative to BAS service. Manages our service contract base and ensures commitments are completed timely and all pertinent documentation is gathered, recorded and uploaded. Works closely with our engineering and dispatching team on assignment of key personnel and project turnover.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential:
- Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures.
- Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
- Works closely with business unit manager on identifying areas of added efficiencies to our operational and customer service procedures.
- Provides input on teams performance, as needed.
- Serves as a mentor to all assigned field staff and assists with in-depth problem resolution.
- Ensures all service technicians are properly tooled and trained in the latest technologies.
- Works closely with our training manager on scheduling training to help develop career paths for assigned personnel.
- Works closely with service dispatcher ensuring materials are procured and personnel are assigned in a timely fashion.
- Ensures all service work orders are completed in a timely and profitable manner.
- Reviews service contract reports monthly and ensures all scheduled commitments are being fulfilled.
- Stays abreast of product updates and new technologies. Communicates these updates to field staff as needed.
- Ensures service material stock levels are adequate and meet our service requirements.
- Provides 24-hour service availability and remote support as needed.
Job Requirements
Skills/Education:
- High school diploma with additional 2 years of technical training in automation and/or video surveillance/card access applications.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the automation industry.
- Elevated technical knowledge of mechanical systems and automation systems applications.
- Advanced computer hardware and software knowledge.
- Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and works well under pressure.
- Excellent verbal, written and human relations skills.
- Ability to travel to jobsites, including overnight stays and weekends, as needed.
- Maintain a valid drivers license and ability to meet driving eligibility requirements as outlined in Tri-M/EnerG Test Policies.
Physical Requirements:
- Working 40 hours/week, scheduled in 8 to 10-hour shifts.
- Standing and/or climbing 4 to 6 hours/day.
- Twisting (180) and walking 2 to 3 hours per day.
- Squatting and sitting 3 to 4 hours/day.
- Lifting weights of 0 to 100 lbs.; frequently 0 to 35 lbs. and infrequently above 35 lbs.; sizes and shapes of objects vary from conduit to large panel covers.
- Ability to lift from floor to above shoulder.
- Repetitive use of hands includes keyboarding; occasional grasping of hand tools; and fine motor coordination for electronic and pneumatic troubleshooting.
- Vision adequate for computer use, blueprint reading, and coding for wire identification.
- Balance adequate for occasional climbing of ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
- Environmental factors include working in temperature extremes of 0F to 100F; up to 8 hours inside or outside; atmospheric exposure to dust, gases, fumes, odors; and poor ventilation in confined spaces.
- Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
- Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and gloves. Equipment on an as needed basis may include lanyards, safety harness, face mask, respirator, hearing protection and Nomex suit.
