Job summary

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. is seeking a Front-End Billing Specialist to support billing processes and data collection.

You will verify eligibility, manage client records in Net Smart, and input insurance rates, while ensuring accuracy in the electronic health record. The role requires 3–5 years of relevant billing experience, familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare, and strong Excel/Word skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Billing Certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of work experience in related field is required.
• Experience with Medicaid, Medicare and Managed Care; experience with electronic billing software (Net Smart) preferred.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications is essential.
• Ability to travel throughout the five boroughs as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform eligibility verification for all Insurance types using electronic software.
• Open and close clients in Net Smart.
• Enter and update Medicaid, Medicare and Managed Care rates in Net Smart.
• Enter client information into the electronic health record (EHR).
• Follow up on corrective action plans.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

STATEMENT OF THE JOB:

Under the direct supervision of the Service Fee Supervisor the position is responsible for front-end billing responsibilities and data collection and review. Communicate with direct care program staff as needed. Comply with all agency standards, rules, practices, and procedures.

• Eligibility verification using electronic software for all Insurance types.
• Open and close clients in Net Smart
• Enter and update Medicaid, Medicare and Managed Care rates in Net Smart
• Enter client information into electronic health record.
• Follow up corrective action plans.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
