Job summary

Southern Home Services is seeking a Service Electrician to handle a variety of residential electrical tasks, troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical systems in homes. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs or replacements, and communicate clearly with homeowners to explain problems and solutions.

The role requires strong technical skills, good problem-solving ability, and a commitment to safety, quality, and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of residential/light commercial electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• A positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
• Adaptability, flexibility, and creativity as a collaborative team player.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to address and resolve electrical issues.
• The physical ability to lift to 50 lbs. as required by the job

Responsibilities

• Performing residential service work by diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems, identifying issues, and executing repairs to restore functionality.
• Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, and circuit breakers, to ensure reliable operation.
• Effectively communicating with customers to explain electrical problems, present repair or replacement options, and provide clear recommendations based on their needs.
• Handling physical demands of the job, such as pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and lifting heavy objects safely.
• Performing basic wiring tasks, including installing disconnects, whips, branch circuits, breakers, and other electrical accessories, ensuring proper connections and functionality.
• Utilizing a thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the electrical trade, including their proper handling and maintenance.
• Applying knowledge of electrical codes and regulations to ensure all work is compliant with local, state, and national standards, and to maintain safety on the job site.
• Additional duties as assigned.
