You will transport material handling equipment to and from customer sites, branches, and our service shop, ensuring timely and professional support for field technicians and customers. Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience, a clean MVR, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs are required.

Job Summary

Herc-U-Lift, Inc. is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Service Driver with a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to support our Service team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting material handling equipment - such as forklifts, aerial lifts and racking, to and from customer job sites, company branches, and our service shop. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our field technicians and customers receive timely and professional support.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Safely operate a CDL truck to transport material handling equipment to customer locations and company facilities.
• Load and unload equipment using winches, ramps, or forklifts as needed, ensuring proper securement and safety during transport.
• Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pick-ups, fuel usage, mileage, and hours of service.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with dispatch, service coordinators, and field technicians.
• Provide basic operational guidance to customers during drop-off (as needed).
• Ensure vehicles and trailers are kept clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Represent the company with professionalism and integrity while on the road or on customer job sites.
• Assist in the yard or warehouse with equipment organization, loading, or other support tasks when not driving.

Job duties and responsibilities may change based on company or customer needs and requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Valid CDL
• Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) and current DOT Medical Card required.
• Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions.
• Forklift experience preferred; certification a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of load securement best practices and basic mechanical awareness of material handling equipment.

Education and Experience

Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience, preferably with flatbed or rollback trucks.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly exposed to outdoor elements and warehouse/shop conditions.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
