Job Title: Service Development Representative

Department: Service Development

Reports To: Hospital Service Development Director

Supervises: No one

FLSA Status: Exempt Position

Position Summary

The Service Development Representative is responsible for implementing business and marketing plans within their assigned territory. This role collects information from referring professionals or facilities and meets with potential patients to conduct pre-admission screenings, serving as a liaison between referral sources and the Hospital. Information gathered is submitted to the Intake Department for admission eligibility determination.

The Service Development Representative assists patients and families in identifying appropriate care alternatives and communicates pre-screening results and recommendations to patients, families, and referral sources in accordance with company policy.

This position plays an active role in community service development. Representatives provide consultative support and educational services throughout the month while promoting mental health prevention awareness.

The Representative develops positive relationships with community resources and professional networks to ensure a seamless continuum of care and maintain strong collaborative partnerships. The ultimate goal of this position is to improve the overall quality of life for mental health patients referred to the organization.

The ideal candidate is an LPN with marketing experience. This position requires travel and includes responsibility for the entire state of Louisiana.

Work requires spending approximately 75% or more of the time indoors in an environment protected from weather conditions, though not necessarily from temperature changes.

Employees must provide documentation of a tuberculosis test during new-hire orientation and annually thereafter.

Physical Requirements
  • Stand for moderate periods of time (60–80% of the work shift)
  • Sit for extended periods (at least 4 hours)
  • Walk as required to perform job duties
  • Lift and carry more than 10 pounds as needed

Stress is identified as a job hazard due to a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The environment presents inherent risks associated with serving psychiatric patients experiencing acute and crisis-related needs.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing preferred, or business development experience with a healthcare focus.

License

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare sales, service development, or the medical industry required.
