Job summary

Food City in Weber City, VA is seeking an on-site Deli support role to ensure friendly customer service and accurate product handling. Responsibilities include merchandising the Deli, inventory, pricing, safety adherence, and supporting daily operations in a fast-paced grocer environment.

Responsibilities cover preparing deli items, maintaining documents, and assisting with ad products while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Food Service experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous service to Food City shoppers.
• Merchandise Service Deli cases.
• Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory of Service Deli and Supporting merchandise according to the department's needs.
• Receive and rotate all products ordered.
• Maintain proper pricing of all products.
• Keep the department clean according to company standards.
• Enforce and maintain all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote sales and merchandise using sampling, announcements, and demos.
• Prepare Service Deli items according to recipes and company standards.
• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations including weights and measures for Service Deli.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork and records (short date list, invoicing, production sheets).
• Manage ad products during ad period and follow sales & ad plans.
• Ensure quality and freshness of all products.
• Maintain HAACP programs and general health & safety.
• Train, supervise, and maintain slicer equipment safety.
• Clean and maintain the deli case.
• Set and maintain proper planogram.

• Responsible for quality and freshness of all products.
• Maintain company health, safety, and HAACP programs.
• Responsible for training, safety, and upkeep of all company slicers.
• Clean and maintain the deli case.
• Responsible for setting and maintaining the proper planogram.
• Additional job duties may be assigned as needed.
