Job summary

Aviagen Turkeys Inc. is hiring Service Crew members to support breeder farm operations across our region. Team members travel daily from the office to farms to vaccinate, tag, weigh, and move birds, working as a coordinated crew.

Successful candidates will perform flock health observations, assist with pen setup and cleanout, and maintain accurate records while complying with biosecurity and safety policies. There is potential for weekend/holiday scheduling based on needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Reliable transportation to report to the designated location daily.

Responsibilities

• Vaccinate, tag, weigh, move, and handle birds per procedures.
• Travel with the service crew to assigned farm locations.
• Observe birds for illness, report concerns to supervisor.
• Assist with pen setup, cleanout, and flock preparation.
• Maintain records and documentation as required.
• Adhere to biosecurity, safety, and sanitation policies.
• Communicate with Farm Managers and teammates about daily activities.

Job Description Summary:Aviagen Turkeys Inc. is hiring service crew team members!Aviagen Turkeys Inc. is looking for motivated individuals to join our Service Crew and support breeder farm operations across our region. Service Crew members travel daily from our office to assigned farms to perform essential flock management activities, including vaccinating, tagging, weighing, and moving birds. If you enjoy hands on work, working as part of a team, and staying active throughout the day, this may be the opportunity for you.Job Description:Service Crew members perform a variety of flock management activities, including but not limited to:Report to the designated company location each workday and travel with the service crew to assigned farm locations.Vaccinate, tag, weigh, move, and handle birds according to company procedures and animal welfare standards.Catch and transfer birds for movement between pens or facilities.Assist with flock health activities by observing birds for signs of illness, injury, abnormal behavior, or mortality and report concerns to the appropriate supervisor.Perform general flock care and support activities as assigned.Assist with pen setup, cleanout, and preparation for incoming flocks.Adhere to all company biosecurity, animal welfare, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures to protect flock health and maintain regulatory compliance.Properly operate, clean, and maintain equipment used by the service crew.Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.Communicate effectively with Farm Managers, supervisors, and fellow team members regarding daily activities and concerns.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Reliable transportation to report to the designated company location each workday.Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining attention to detail.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays based on operational needs.Animal husbandry or agricultural experience is preferred but not required.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, grip, and twist throughout the workday.Ability to routinely and repeatedly lift, carry, push, or pull 50 to 60 pounds throughout the workday.Ability to repeatedly handle and lift live turkeys weighing up to 50 to 60 pounds during activities such as vaccination, movement, and flock management.Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, dusty, damp, wet, and noisy agricultural environments.Ability to work around live poultry, farm related odors, dust, disinfectants, and other agricultural chemicals.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all biosecurity requirements.BenefitsAviagen Turkeys Inc. provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the healthcare and financial well-being of our employees.
