Job summary

Malin is seeking a Service Center Technician to diagnose and repair forklifts and related equipment at customer sites. You will read manuals, perform inspections, maintain logs and manage parts and tools.

This role emphasizes independent work, strong communication, and ongoing training opportunities. Qualified candidates have 2+ years in related field and a solid mechanical/industrial electrical foundation, with a valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in a related field, including maintenance of lift trucks and related equipment.
• Some college, completed trade school program or degree in a related field.
• Solid foundation of mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial electricity.
• Valid driver's license with a clean MVR.
• Ability to pass a drug screen.
• Self-starter who can work independently in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair forklifts and related equipment at customer sites following guidelines and procedures.
• Conduct routine and special inspections as required.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals and service bulletins to determine repair methods.
• Maintain repair logs documenting preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Account for all parts, materials, tools and consumables used.
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal customers and co-workers.
• Keep a personal toolset as required by supervisor.
• Maintain equipment, manuals and related documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Diagnose, trouble-shoot and repair forklifts and other assigned equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures while maintaining positive customer relations.
• Conduct routine and special inspections as required.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
• Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Account for all parts, materials, tools and consumables used as required.

• Report all accidents, injuries, safety violations and unsafe working conditions to your supervisor immediately.
• Develop and maintain positive, effective working relationships with internal customers and co-workers.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

• Two or more years of experience in a related field, including maintenance of various lift truck manufacturers, automotive, aviation or military, or recent trade school graduates with applied skills
• Some college, completed trade school program or degree in a related field of study

Specialized

• Solid foundation of mechanical aptitude and ability, with knowledge of industrial electricity
• Basic and increasing knowledge of hydraulics preferred
• Valid driver's license, including clean motor vehicle record
• Clean background and ability to pass a drug screen

Physical Requirements

Climbing, stopping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pound of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks of a non-repetitive nature. Subjected to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise, vibration, oils, atmospheric conditions and a variety of physical activities such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current or exposure to chemicals.
