Job summary

Ag Partners Cooperative in Seneca, KS, seeks a service assistant responsible for delivering excellent customer service in servicing and repairing vehicles, and promoting teamwork and shared services.

You will coordinate vehicle service scheduling, assess repair needs, perform lubrication and light mechanical work, maintain a clean facility, assist with inventory, and process customer transactions while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have basic computer operation experience.
  • Willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job-related education requirements or opportunities.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate vehicle service scheduling, maintenance, and delivery.
  • Examine and determine need for vehicle repairs; perform lubrication, light mechanical work and tire repair as qualified.
  • Ensure service area and facility are neat, clean and in good condition; report issues to supervisor.
  • Promote new products and services and assist with stocking inventory.
  • Perform customer checkout using point of sale system and/or write tickets.
  • Maintain shop area and provide high level of customer service.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs and resolve questions or concerns.
  • Adhere to safety policies and company core values.

Summary

This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service in servicing and repairing vehicles. Promotes company and branch location employee cohesiveness through effective communication, teamwork and shared services.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

(Includes the following and other duties may be assigned.)

Responsible For
  • Coordination of vehicle service scheduling, maintenance, and delivery.
  • Examining and determining need for vehicle repairs. Also, responsible for all lubrication, light mechanical work and tire repair and maintenance as qualified.
  • Ensuring that interior and exterior of service station facility is neat, clean and in good condition and report to supervisor any issues that may need resolution.
  • Promoting new products and services to customers and assisting with stocking inventory.
  • Performing customer check out using point of sale system and/or writing tickets.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the shop work area.
  • Providing a high level of customer service.
  • Responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meeting commitments.
  • Effectively communicating by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management.
  • Adherence to safety policies.
  • Promoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamwork.
  • Adhering to cooperative credit policy.
  • Securing facilities and equipment when closing.
  • Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed.
  • Present a clean and professional appearance.
  • Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer operation experience. Willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job-related education requirements or opportunities.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

Driver's License Required.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation, and labeling.
