Job summary

Ag Partners Cooperative is hiring an Energy Operations Technician to support the Energy Department with installations, deliveries, maintenance, and special projects while delivering excellent customer service.

You will assist with the delivery of lubricants, DEF, fuels, propane, and related products, perform routine repairs on tanks and dispensers, and support safety and housekeeping programs across locations. This role requires flexibility and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in energy, grain, fertilizer, chemicals, and/or farm supplies preferred.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering lubricants, DEF, fuels, propane, and other products to customers.
• Assist in repairs on bulk fuel tanks, propane tanks, and Cardtrol fuel dispensers.
• Coordinate with energy sales staff to schedule and ensure timely deliveries.
• Complete new customer installations of propane tanks, fuel tanks, DEF systems, and bulk oil totes; service existing customers and perform safety checks.
• Assist in inventory control of energy products and related supplies.
• Support Energy Operations Manager and CLT Division Manager in preparing orders.
• Help develop and implement maintenance and housekeeping programs for energy facilities and tools.
• Assist with energy department special projects as required.
• Promote safety and maintain a clean work area; ensure security of products and facilities.

Summary

The Energy Operations Technician is responsible for assisting in the Energy Department to ensure successful operations including installations, delivery, maintenance, special projects, and excellent customer service.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Participating in the delivery of bulk/packaged lubricants, DEF, refined fuels, propane, and other ancillary products to Ag Partners Coop and Cenex ® Lubricant Terminal (CLT) customers.
• Assisting in repairs on company bulk refined fuel tanks, bulk propane tanks, and Cardtrol fuel dispensers as needed to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Working closely with energy sales staff to coordinate and ensure that customer-ordered products are scheduled and delivered as needed.
• Ensuring completion of new customer installations of propane tanks, fuel tanks, DEF systems, and bulk oil totes; also, service our existing customers and safety leak checks on existing systems for propane.
• Assisting in inventory control, including but not limited to: fuel tanks, propane tanks, oil totes, tank and tote accessories, bulk and packaged lubricants, bulk and packaged DEF, grease, and ancillary products.
• Assisting the Energy Operations Manager & CLT Division Manager in prepping for bulk and packaged lubricant orders.
• Assisting the Energy Operations Manager in developing and implementing maintenance, repair, and housekeeping programs to be used on energy department facilities, equipment, and tools.
• Assisting with Energy Department special projects, as required.
• Performing general housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring appropriate steps are taken to accomplish the security of products and facilities.
• Prompt and regular attendance required with a clean and professional appearance.
• Providing excellent customer service by leading through difficult or emotional situations, responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints, and concerns immediately, and meeting commitments.
• Ensuring flexibility of schedule when additional time demands are required.
• Working with other cooperative staff across locations to ensure cooperative goals are met.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Haz-Mat, Airbrake, and Tanker Endorsements and/or the ability to obtain and maintain. CETP (Certified Employee Training Program) Certification and/or the ability to obtain and maintain.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations. Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
