Job Description

Eurofins Environment Testing is hiring for a Service Center Supervisor located in our Bridgeport, West Virginia service center. This will be a full-time position. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with overtime as needed. Additional hours may occasionally be needed, depending on sample receipts and workload, including evening or weekend work. Must be comfortableworking independently in the service center.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Courier duties approximately 25% of time
  • Pick-up and delivery of water, soil and air samples to and from the laboratory.
  • Receive samples, unpack coolers, label containers, scan shipping documentation, and perform sample login
  • Data entryfor sample login with a high level of attention to detail
  • Verify sample preservation, following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Delivery of samples to walk-in refrigerators or lab areas after receipt
  • Produce bottle kits and perform shipping, receiving, and login duties
  • Clean equipment, such as glassware, coolers, sinks, tables, samplers using solvents, water and detergents or acids according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Follow safe work practices and adheres to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
  • Maintain the quality, hold time, and turnaround time objectives of the lab
  • Communicate effectively with the courier coordinator about the courier schedule.
  • Record in the courier log book the time that courier arrives to the site and time leaving from the site for all the pick ups and deliveries.
  • Maintain records for the vehicle maintenance and driving miles; turn it in at the end of each month.
  • Comply with the Company’s “Driver Evaluation and Qualification Policy”.
  • Maintain the shipping/receiving area to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Dispose of samples according to guidelines on a monthly basis to remain in compliance with EPA and EH&S requirements.
  • Maintain delivery truck to keep in proper working order.
  • May be assigned other sample control duties as identified by the department manager of Sample Control.
  • Perform all duties as outlined in the SOP for Courier role.
  • Maintain the shipping/receiving area to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments of bottle kits and coolers for pick-up
  • Restock supplies when received so supplies are available to employees when needed.
  • Verify the validity and completeness of all bottle orders being delivered. This verification is done prior to leaving for delivery
  • Interact with Project Managers and clients appropriately and professionally

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Professional, knowledgeable, confident, and friendly demeanor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be detail oriented with the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently and have the ability to follow complex instructions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and a willingness to meet daily commitments with a widely varying workload
  • Ability to read maps and follow directions
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs routinely and safely and must be able to work standing for most of the day
  • Must be familiar with MS Office programs such as Outlook, Explorer, Excel and Word. Database experience is not required but is a plus
  • Valid US Drivers' License without recent incident to drive company vehicle
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Compensation range: $19-21/hour with full benefits
