Job summary

Ryerson is seeking a Service Center Operator B to join our Indianapolis facility. You will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Position includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding and training, with potential for temp-to-perm conversion. The role requires basic math/computer skills and experience with SAP for shipping/receiving tasks.

Qualifications

• Candidates must pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer.
• Physical ability to pass a vision/hearing/mobility exam.
• Successful candidates will enroll in a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding and training.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging material to customer requirements.
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
• Completing SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
