Job summary

Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc, a leading metals supplier, seeks a Service Center Operator C (SCOC) to support daily staging, packing, and picking for shipments. You will operate forklifts and ensure SAP work orders and shipping paperwork are accurate.

The role includes material handling, detailed documentation, and adherence to quality standards with onboarding into a registered apprenticeship program. Regular attendance and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Pass skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem solving.
• Minimum 1 year of similar job experience preferred.
• Regular attendance and basic math skills required.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with SAP systems.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging of material to customer requirements.
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed.
• Completing paperwork and SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
• Maximize productivity for finished goods creation.
