Reports to: Divisional EDS/SE Director
Schedule: 40 hours weekly
Supervises: Provo Service Extension Center
Rate of Pay: $60,789.57/year

Scope of Position / Essential Functions
- To provide direct services to clients on behalf of The Salvation Army and to oversee the daily office and client assistance operations.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of TSA services and all social services in Provo, Utah, and interface with other county/state agencies.
- Maintain knowledge of current and future social service trends and assist the Salvation Army in the development and improvement of social services programs.
- Establish and work closely with the Service Extension Advisory Board; attend meetings, provide financial and client data, recruit new board members, and submit applications for background checks.
- Oversee all operations of the Service Center, including daily business functions of the office; be organized, detail‑oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Coordinate and supervise special events throughout the year, such as Back to School, Christmas/seasonal assistance, camp programs, and newly identified programs.
- Self‑starter with ability to work independently while following all policies, procedures, and directives from the SE/EDS department.
- Assist with job postings, interviews, and selection of final candidates for open positions; prepare paperwork and submit to the Divisional SE/EDS Department.
- Interview, screen, select, and supervise volunteers; ensure they understand the Salvation Army and represent the organization appropriately.
- Maintain rapport and communication with staff, volunteers, vendors, and the public.
- Submit accurate monthly reports and statistics to DHQ in a timely manner.
- Submit invoices and monthly bills to DHQ with appropriate documentation for payment.
- Handle donations as directed by DHQ protocol; deposit and log all cash gifts per Finance/Auditors/THQ requirements.
- Provide input in monitoring and adherence to the service center's budget, including grant funding.
- Seek additional funding sources, write and track grants, attend grant meetings, workshops, and conferences; provide required reports to DHQ and grantors.
- Ensure all grant inquiries, applications, administration, and reporting follow divisional protocol.
- Represent TSA throughout Utah County at community, business, and social service organizations as the official Salvation Army spokesperson.
- Oversee Christmas/seasonal projects and the annual Red Kettle Campaign, guiding volunteers and ensuring accurate and safe collection, counting, and deposit procedures.
- Represent TSA across Utah County with local media, work with media outlets to obtain coverage, and promote the Salvation Army Service Center.
- Participate in internal committees and conferences as requested by the EDS/SE Director.
- Other duties as assigned by the EDS/SE Director.
- Maintain professional standards in providing effective case management with families and individuals.
- Manage day‑to‑day operation of services and case management; interview clients, assess needs, make eligibility decisions, and document cases.
- Maintain awareness of services provided by local agencies and actively seek resources for clients.
- Handle denials with compassion and refer clients to other agencies when necessary.
- Separate personal emotions from decision‑making and follow TSA guidelines set by policy and Service Extension Guidelines.
- Maintain proficiency in handling crisis/emergency services for vulnerable populations and use crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
- Conduct client interviews, prepare case files, obtain identification and permission to verify, release, and share information, and keep records accurate, current, and secure.
- If assistance is provided, work with vendors to obtain invoices, W9s, and other relevant paperwork; prepare and submit documentation for payment.
Driving
- Minimum age of 21 and possession of a valid in‑state driver's license.
- MVR will be processed every year in accordance with the Salvation Army's policies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist; grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead; operate a telephone; lift up to 25 pounds; access and produce information from a computer; understand written information; perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work (required) or at least two years in a related field or professional experience in a related human services program.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Strong communication, writing, budget/accounting skills; computer proficiency; strong customer service aptitude; ability to work effectively with others; maintain confidentiality; bilingual in Spanish preferred; position requires personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
- Software skills: Experience in Microsoft Word, Teams, and Excel; working knowledge of integrated database applications; ability to use new software programs or web‑based systems with basic training; proficiency in The Salvation Army's social services database system(s).
