Job summary

Septagon Construction is seeking an experienced carpenter tradesman to join our Cedar Rapids team. The role involves performing carpentry and construction tasks, including finishing work on trim, wall panels, and roofs, as well as repairs to metal structures.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in carpentry or construction, holds a valid driver's license, and is comfortable with hand and power tools. Occasional overnight travel may be required, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate level carpentry and construction tasks, including finishing work.

• Wear safety harnesses on lifts and at heights on job sites.

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience in carpentry or construction experience
• Willingness to learn; ability to follow direction closely.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious

This position is intermediate level, performing physically demanding and high risk work, often working a great heights, outdoors in all weather conditions at construction projects. Service Carpenters are responsible for working with finishing material such as trim, wall panels, and repairing metal structures and roofs. This position is also responsible for working with exterior doors, completing miscellaneous demolition work, paving and concrete jobs, as well as remodel work. As a result, this position must wear safety harnesses to reduce the risk of falling anytime while operating any personal lift or while on any roof surface or deck .

The ideal candidate should be well rounded in various areas of commercial construction. This position could require occasional overnight stays while working on projects which are out of town.
