Job summary

Cadillac Coffee Company is hiring a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair coffee brewers, espresso machines, grinders, and other beverage equipment at customer locations around the West side of Michigan. You will travel to sites in Grand Rapids and surrounding areas in a company van, with on-call pay for after-hours emergencies.

We seek mechanically inclined individuals with reliable, people-friendly approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical or electrical aptitude from prior work, training, hobbies, or military background.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Comfortable being on your feet, able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Good communication skills to explain repairs to customers.
• Basic math skills for measurements, ratios, and invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (coffee shops, restaurants, hotels) to install, troubleshoot, and repair coffee and espresso equipment.
• Diagnose problems by sound and testing; disassemble, fix or replace parts, reassemble correctly.
• Explain use and care of equipment to customers.
• Keep van, tools, and paperwork organized for fast move between jobs.
• Take on-call duties for after-hours emergency repairs (paid).
• Order parts, track inventory, and maintain service records.

We're hiring a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair coffee brewers, espresso machines, grinders, and other beverage equipment at customer locations around the West side of Michigan. No two days look the same — one morning you're diagnosing an electrical fault on an espresso machine, that afternoon you're setting up a brand-new install and walking a customer through how to use it.

You don't need two years of experience walking in the door. If you've got mechanical aptitude — you've worked on cars, appliances, HVAC, electronics, anything with moving parts and wiring — and you're reliable and good with people, we'll train you on the equipment. We pair new techs with experienced ones and invest in getting you certified on the brands we service.

What you'll do

• Travel to customers sites (coffee shops, restaurants, hotels) to install, troubleshoot, and repair coffee and espresso equipment.
• Diagnose problems by sound, feel, and testing — then take equipment apart, fix or replace what's broken, and put it back together right
• Walk customers through how to use and care for their new equipment
• Keep your van, tools, and paperwork organized so you can move fast from job to job
• Take on-call for after-hours emergency repairs (paid)
• Order parts, track inventory, and keep accurate service records

What you need

• High school diploma or GED
• Mechanical or electrical aptitude — from prior work experience, training, hobbies, or military background (2 years of formal repair experience is a plus, but not required)
• A valid driver's license and clean-enough driving record to be insurable
• Comfortable being on your feet, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in varied conditions (customer kitchens, outdoor equipment, tight mechanical spaces)
• Good communication skills — you'll be explaining repairs to customers, not just other techs
• Basic math skills for measurements, ratios, and invoicing

Good to know

This is a field-based role — most of your day is spent driving to and working at customer locations around Western Michigan area, in a company vehicle. You'll be on an on-call rotation for emergency repairs (with pay for that time), and the physical work includes standing, reaching, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and working near mechanical equipment, in varying weather, and around some noise.
