Job summary

DPR Construction’s OES Equipment team seeks a Service and Repair Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel rental equipment, ensuring safety and reliability. You’ll perform preventive maintenance and document work orders, supporting shop and limited field service.

This role requires 3–5 years in equipment service, OSHA 10 certification, and a valid driver’s license. CDL is preferred to enhance field capability.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel-powered rental equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance and follows OEM service schedules to ensure fleet health.
• Generates, updates, and closes work orders with diagnostics, labor, parts usage, and repair outcomes.
• Maintains OSHA and site safety standards and proper use of PPE.
• Assists with parts ordering and inventory organization.

Supports both shop-based and limited field service activities as directed. Restores equipment to “Ready to Rent” status while maintaining documentation accuracy and safety compliance. Works closely with branch leadership and operations teams to prioritize repairs based on business needs and may assist with field service support as required.Key Responsibilities:Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel-powered rental equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.Performs preventive maintenance and executes OEM-recommended service schedules to maintain fleet health and compliance.Troubleshoots equipment issues, identifies repair scope, and escalates complex failures to Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Service & Repair Lead when necessary.Generates, updates, and closes work orders documenting diagnostics, labor, parts usage, and repair outcomes to support fleet reporting and audit requirements.Maintains compliance with OSHA, OES EHS, and site-specific safety standards while ensuring proper use of PPE and safe repair practices.Assists with parts ordering, stock management, and inventory organization to support timely equipment turnaround.Collaborates with branch staff and operations teams to prioritize production equipment repairs based on fleet demand.Education Qualifications:High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.Work Experience:3–5 years of experience in equipment service, repair, or related mechanical field required.Certifications and Licenses:Valid driver’s license required.Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour General Industry certification required.Commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred.DPR Construction is a forward-thinking, self-performing general contractor specializing in technically complex and sustainable projects for the advanced technology, life sciences, healthcare, higher education and commercial markets.
