McGavock Auto Group in Texas is seeking a Service Advisor to be the primary contact for customers throughout the vehicle service and repair process. You will greet customers, discuss maintenance needs, write repair orders, and document concerns.
You will coordinate with technicians, parts personnel, warranty administrators, and management to ensure timely, accurate repairs and clear communication about costs and completion times, while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
The Service Advisor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service throughout the vehicle service and repair process. This position serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the dealership’s Service Department, ensuring clear communication, accurate repair recommendations, and a positive customer experience.
Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival.
Consult with customers regarding vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
Write accurate repair orders and document customer concerns and vehicle conditions.
Communicate recommended maintenance and repairs based on manufacturer guidelines and technician findings.
Provide customers with clear explanations of repairs, costs, and estimated completion times.
Obtain customer authorization before performing additional work.
Maintain consistent communication with customers regarding repair status and changes to estimates.
Coordinate with technicians, parts personnel, warranty administrators, and management to ensure efficient vehicle repairs.
Review completed repairs with customers and explain work performed.
Prepare accurate invoices and collect payment when applicable.
Follow up with customers after service to ensure satisfaction.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while meeting dealership performance and sales objectives.
Ensure all repair orders and customer records are complete and accurate.
Follow dealership policies, safety procedures, and manufacturer requirements.
Help maintain a clean, professional, and organized service department.
Previous automotive service advisor, service consultant, or dealership experience preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to explain automotive repairs and maintenance in an easy-to-understand manner.
Basic knowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance, and repair procedures.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively with customers, technicians, and dealership staff.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Experience with dealership management systems (DMS).
Knowledge of manufacturer maintenance schedules and warranty procedures.
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) knowledge or certification is a plus.
Previous experience with service sales, upselling, or customer retention.

This position involves working in a busy dealership service environment and may require standing, walking, and moving between the service drive, customer waiting area, and service department. The Service Advisor may occasionally inspect vehicles and should be comfortable working around automotive equipment, tools, and shop activity.
