Overview
The Server plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to provide residents and guests with the best possible dining experience and deliver Platinum Service with each interaction.
Schedule
Full‑time Server: 7 AM–2 PM & 11 AM–7 PM shifts
Part‑time Server: 3:30 PM–7 PM shift; wage starts at $14 per hour
Essential Job Functions
- Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
- Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
- Take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer menu questions.
- Follow sanitary regulations at all times.
- Provide Platinum Service with each dining experience.
- Set up meal trays, food carts, and the dining room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common areas before and after meals.
- Assist in checking resident trays before distribution.
- Pour hot and cold beverages, assist residents with opening containers and condiments, and pay special attention to resident and guest needs.
- Prepare and deliver snacks to special events and parties hosted at the community.
- Bus tables during and after meals.
- Provide support services to other dining rooms during events and activities as needed.
- Clean the dining room area according to cleaning schedules and assignments.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

- Make independent decisions and follow instructions.
- Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the public.
- Work with ill, disabled, elderly and emotionally upset people within the facility.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, residents and families.
Education and Experience
- Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
- Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Tasks may involve potential exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants and hazardous chemicals.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift/carry up to 30 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently push/pull up to 30 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Bend, twist, stoop.
- Reach at or below the shoulder.
- Stand or walk frequently.
Cognitive Requirements
- Execute tasks independently.
- Express yourself clearly and effectively.
Environmental Requirements
- May be exposed to heat from kitchen equipment and cold from kitchen freezer.
