Position Purpose
The City of Arvada operates the West Woods Golf Course with a restaurant and banquet room; responsible for selling food and beverage and to serve guests in a warm, friendly and professional manner.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides excellent customer service to patrons of the golf course facilities.
- Greets customers warmly and with a smile, proceeds with standard sales approach; has thorough knowledge of menu contents, daily specials and knows basic preparation of each (baked, fried, broiled, portion size, approximate time, etc.).
- Confirms orders for accuracy and serves meals in a professional and timely manner.
- Has thorough knowledge of beverages, i.e. house brand liquors, liquor, beer and wine that is available; knows special beverage promotions.
- Works in an organized, expedient manner, anticipates guests' needs and adapts to business flow.
- Clears dishes and tables as needed.
- Assists bus person when possible.
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
- Performs all side work duties, works opening and closing as directed; helps where needed in restaurant; attends departmental meetings, etc.
- Travels to and attends team and organizational meetings, training, events and activities and appropriately and professionally represents the department.
- Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education
- High School/GED (required)
- No Work Experience required. Prior customer service or waiting experience helpful.
Other Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Demands
- Moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions.
- Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs.) and use of medium weight tools.
- Occasional hazards that are predictable or well protected against (hazardous waste, ladders, cleaning supplies, trips and falls).
- Exposure to loud noise indoors.
Benefits
The City of Arvada offers a robust Total Rewards package. Temporary, variable hour and health plan eligible employees will earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum cap of 48 hours. The City does not offer benefits to temporary and/or seasonal employees.
