Riddle Village, a lifecare retirement community, seeks Part-Time Servers to join our dining department. If you are friendly, sociable, and enjoy working with seniors, this may be the right fit.

As a Server, you will inform residents of menu choices, take orders, present meals, and keep the dining room welcoming. Shifts include weekends and evenings; we value customer service, teamwork, and a positive demeanor.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must enjoy smiling and helping others.
• Able to follow oral and written English instructions.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inform residents of daily menu and present meals with high level of service.
• Greet residents and guests and suggest menu options.
• Take orders and assist with meal selections as requested.
• Present meals in a friendly and professional manner.
• Address residents by name and learn their food and beverage preferences.
• Be attentive to residents’ needs and any service issues.
• Clear tables when meals are finished and reset as needed.
• Maintain dining room cleanliness and organization.

About the Server Position:

The Server will...

• Inform the residents of the menu selections for the day and professionally present and serve resident meals with a high level of customer service and to their satisfaction. This position also requires staff to ensure the dining room is clean and welcoming.
• Greets and informs residents and guests of available menu selections.
• Takes residents and guests food order and assists them with meal selections if requested
• Present the meals to residents and guests in a friendly and pleasant manner.
• Always address residents by name and become knowledgeable of their likes and dislikes in food and beverages.
• Is alert and attentive to the residents' needs and to any problems from the residents, such as food dislikes, or service problems.
• Clears the table when residents are finished dining
• Bus tables when the meal has been completed and reset the tables as they become available

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must like to smile, and smile often
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in the English Language
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Must have an interest in working with the elderly
• Must have the ability to work well under pressure, organize workloads, and meet time deadlines.
• Must have strong sense of timing and how to apply it to a serving structure
• Must display excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team, and maintain a professional demeanor throughout the entire shift
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances with or without reasonable accommodations
• Must be able to stand majority of the time, walk short distances, stoop for and reach for food. Must be able to lift food and equipment and withstand changes in temperature going in and out of coolers and freezers with or without reasonable accommodations
• Must be able to work every other weekend and at least one day per week from 4 PM to 8 PM (exception: Sunday shift is 11 AM 3 PM)

AVAILABLE SHIFTS VARY BUT INCLUDE EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
