Job summary

The Inn at Stonecliffe on Mackinac Island is seeking a friendly, energetic Server for a seasonal role that runs from now through late October. You will take orders, deliver meals, and help ensure an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of restaurant serving experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Housing on Mackinac Island is preferred, and a flexible schedule is required.

Qualifications

• High School education required; post-secondary education preferred.
• Minimum of one year in a hotel/restaurant serving role.

Responsibilities

• Seats and takes accurate food orders from guests.
• Monitor food distribution to ensure proper presentation and timely delivery.
• Check station for setup and cleanliness before, during, and after shifts.
• Adhere to liquor regulations regarding service to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Be familiar with all menu items and service procedures.
• Total checks, present to guests, and accept payment.
• Assist with bussing tables and other duties as assigned.

The Inn at Stonecliffe is seeking a n energetic, experienced, and service oriented Server to join our team! This position will run from now through late October on beautiful Mackinac Island. The ideal candidate will already have their own housing on Mackinac Island.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Seats and takes accurate food orders from guests
• Monitor food distribution, ensuring that meals are delivered to the correct recipients and that food is properly prepared and nicely presented and/or the buffet is appealing.
• Checks station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
• Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverage to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Must be familiar with all menu items, their preparation and service procedure.
• Totals checks, presents to guests and accept payment
• Assists with bussing tables
• Perform various other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year in hotel/restaurant serving role

KNO WLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
• Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, etc.
• Basic mathematical skills as needed to make change and give refunds
