Position Overview:

Join our team at The Grill, a vibrant lakeside restaurant known for fast, casual dining at Clemson Marina! As a Server, you'll be the face of our restaurant, ensuring guests enjoy a delightful dining experience with breathtaking waterfront views. This role is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and love engaging with people, making every meal memorable.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or new to the industry, if you have a passion for excellent service and a friendly attitude, we want you on our team! This temporary/seasonal position ends in October and requires weekend and holiday availability.

Essential Functions:

1. Greet all guests warmly within 30 seconds of their arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
2. Assist guests in selecting food and beverages by promoting daily specials and sharing your genuine recommendations and preferences.
3. Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them effectively to the kitchen.
4. Efficiently assemble and deliver orders to the appropriate tables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
5. Provide prompt and attentive service, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
6. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional, swift manner.
7. Process payments and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
8. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly.
9. Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless dining experience.
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, chairs, and the dining area.
11. Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

1. Customer service experience, especially in food service or retail (training provided for those without prior experience)
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
3. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
4. Positive attitude and excellent teamwork abilities
5. Responsible and trustworthy
6. Clear background check and drug screening.
7. Full weekend and summer holiday availability. Typical hours of operation are Friday–Sunday, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous experience as a server or in a similar role
2. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems
3. Knowledge of food and beverage service best practices
4. Enthusiasm for lakeside living and the boating lifestyle

Working Conditions:

1. Performs work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, as The Grill features covered outdoor dining areas.
2. Remains stationary for extended periods of time.
3. Communicates clearly and effectively with guests to take orders and handle guest needs.
4. Moves about the restaurant to deliver food to customers and carry out sanitation duties.
5. Moves up to 25 lbs.

The anticipated pay for this position is $2.50 per hour plus tips, which are distributed through a tip pool.
