Job summary

Bass Pro Shops - Big Cedar Lodge in Hollister, MO seeks a friendly Server to deliver courteous, efficient dining service in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

You will learn menus, communicate offerings, handle orders and payments, assist with station setup, and contribute to a team that prides itself on world-class service and safe, accurate order fulfillment. This full-time role includes lifting up to 50 lbs and participating in daily cleaning and readiness activities.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and courteously in assigned workstation
• Record food and beverage orders and enter into computer system
• Monitor status of order preparation and transport orders to guests
• Ensure guest satisfaction and address needs during the meal
• Perform daily cleaning activities
• Handle guest checks and process payments accurately
• Support other staff with bussing, running, and station setup/breakdown
• Participate in tip declaration activities and compensate indirectly tipped associates
• All other duties as assigned

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Server has the responsibility to serve guests in an assigned station by providing courteous and efficient service that meets or exceeds guest's dining expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supports a strong commitment to world class guest service and ensures a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for restaurant patrons.
• Completes training requirements and follows service standards as trained.
• Greets guests promptly and courteously in assigned workstation.
• Understands and executes established procedures for verifying guest's ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol and knows how to prevent a guest from overindulging.
• Learns all menus and can communicate all food and beverage offerings.
• Effectively uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Records food and beverage orders, enters orders into computer system, monitors status of order preparation and safely transports order from kitchen to guest.
• Monitors and addresses guest needs during meal.
• Collects monies owed for food and beverages and properly performs all guest check accountability procedures.
• Performs tip declaration activities and compensates indirectly tipped associates, i.e., Bussers, Bartenders, Runners, as per established service procedures.
• Performs daily cleaning activities.
• Performs food running and station set-up / break-down responsibilities as assigned.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma/GED preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

• Experience in and passion for consumer service
• Willingness to learn new skills and be a team player
• An attitude of flexibility and mindfulness about the team approach
• Learn all menus and is able to communicate all food and beverage offerings
• Clean and clear service areas
• Follow proper procedures as disclosed in Standard Operating Procedures as explained to staff
• Ability to memorize and become knowledgeable of menu items

Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
