Stella Van Buren at Westin Milwaukee Downtown is seeking experienced and aspiring Cocktail Servers to join our upscale Italian American steakhouse team. The role focuses on delivering friendly, professional service and building guest connections in a lively, high-volume setting.

Shifts typically run 3pm–11pm with 2–5 shifts per week, depending on availability. Compensation is tip-based, with average hourly rates between $25 and $30 plus tips, reflecting business volume and performance.

Qualifications

• Previous server or food/beverage experience preferred but training provided.
• Outgoing personality with a passion for guest service in a hotel dining setting.
• Excellent communication and active listening to anticipate guest needs.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods; weekend/holiday availability.

Responsibilities

We are looking for part-time and full-time Cocktail Servers at Stella Van Buren, which is an upscale Italian American Steakhouse, located in the Westin Milwaukee Downtown. Our Cocktail Servers will primarily work from 3pm-11pm for anywhere from 2-5 shifts each week, depending on their availability. This is tip-based position, with average rates typically between $25-$30/hour based on business volumes.

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality food and beverage service to all guests — creating personal connections through friendly conversation, intuitive menu suggestions, and a warm, engaging dining atmosphere
• Complete all necessary setup, side work, and closing duties to ensure smooth restaurant and food and beverage operations every shift
• Maintain expert knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and garnishes — accurately and confidently answering guest questions about food and drink selections
• Ensure consistent guest satisfaction with food quality, beverage presentation, and overall dining experience from the first course to the final check
• Promote teamwork and contribute to a friendly, safe, and professional hotel restaurant work environment
• Accurately process all payment methods — cash, card, and digital — and complete end-of-shift paperwork and reconciliation
• Maintain a neat, professional personal appearance as a brand ambassador for the hotel and restaurant
• Anticipate guest needs and deliver exemplary hospitality that keeps guests coming back
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

• Previous server, restaurant, or food and beverage customer service experience preferred — not required; we will train the right candidate
• An outgoing, social personality with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest service in a hotel restaurant or dining environment
• Excellent communication and active listening skills — you read the table and respond to guest needs before they have to ask
• A positive, can-do attitude and strong team-player mindset — you thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced hotel food and beverage environment
• Ability to handle high-volume service and perform consistently under pressure alongside a collaborative restaurant team
