Job summary

Columbia Hospitality seeks a Seasonal Server for Copperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook Lodge. You will engage guests, upsell wine and dining options, and deliver an unrivaled service experience with attention to detail.

This seasonal role leads into the busy summer season, offering benefits and opportunities for growth within our value-driven team. Experience with POS systems and liquor service is required; training available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Previous server experience in a similar restaurant environment.
• Ability to operate the computerized POS system.
• Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.
• Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations.
• State Food Handler’s License and liquor serving permit.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming experience for new and returning guests.
• Describe and upsell food and beverage offerings with confidence and enthusiasm.
• Take orders accurately and serve items to guests per established standards.
• Enter orders into the POS system and communicate any special requests to the kitchen.
• Ensure attractive presentation and correct temperatures of all items.
• Maintain current knowledge of offerings and daily specials.
• Process guest payments using proper cash handling procedures.
• Keep dining and prep areas clean and organized.

This is a seasonal position leading into the busy summer season at the restaurant.

What you’ll do:

• Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming experience for new and returning guests.

• Takes orders accurately and serves food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards
• Enters orders into computerized Point of Sale system and communicates any special requests to the culinary team
• Ensures attractive, consistent presentation of food and beverages. Ensures that all food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature
• Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items
• Processes guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures
• Keeps work area, including guest dining area, clean and organized

What you bring:

• Previous experience as server in a similar restaurant environment
• Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system
• Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures
• Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations
• Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s)
• Basic knowledge of wine and spirits
