Job Description

We are seeking well-versed Food & Beverage professionals for the position of Server at Rail Stop Restaurant & Bar! This position will be responsible for preparing for service, serving guests with professionalism while having fun and being friendly. The Server will provide menu descriptions and anticipate the guest’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and create a memorable first impression.
  • Provide detailed menu descriptions and ensure accurate order taking.
  • Inquire about guest experience during the meal.
  • Know all wines, beers, and cocktails; make recommendations.
  • Handle payments and settle charges following proper procedures.
  • Communicate daily specials and menu items.
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including cleaning checklists.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training.

Requirements and Skills

  • Stand for up to 8 hours; walk/stand 90% of shift.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Upsell menu items effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of food & beverage service.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English; second language is a plus.
  • Familiarity with POS systems.
  • Adhere to safety standards.

Work Environment

  • Work in restaurant, back of house, and service areas, indoors and outdoors.
  • Exposure to sun, heat, cold, and weather changes.
