Job summary

Maplewood Senior Living in Newtown, CT is seeking a Dining Room Server to support meal service, setup, and cleanup to ensure residents and guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

You will work part-time 4:00-7:30 PM in our Maplewood at Newtown community, with opportunities for growth and a competitive benefits package. Prior kitchen or food service experience is helpful, and you will learn about safe food handling and customer service.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience is desirable, basic knife skills required.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Knowledge of food handling operations and safety procedures.
• Familiar with OSHA-MSDS sheets and procedures.
• Must be able to operate kitchen appliances (microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, ice machine).

Responsibilities

• Follows the posted work schedule and arrives on time.
• Maintains sanitation of the kitchen and assigned areas.
• Establishes constructive relationships with coworkers and residents.
• Familiar with food handling procedures and regulations.

The Dining Room Server plays an integral role in delivering an outstanding customer experience for residents and guests. The Dining Room Server is responsible for assisting in the set-up, service, and cleaning of the dining room (s) and in ensuring the dining experience is enjoyable, timely, and engaging for residents and guests.

Primary Responsibilities

• Follows the posted work schedule and arrives on time and in appropriate work attire
• Responsible for maintaining the kitchen and other assigned area in a sanitary manner
• Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers and residents
• Must be familiar with food handling procedures and regulations
• Must know how to operate kitchen appliances such as the dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker and ice machine
• May be required to help with food preparation, inventory, maintenance as well food deliveries and shelve stock

Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification

• Some kitchen experience is desirable, basic knife skills required
• Operation of kitchen appliances such as a microwave, coffee maker, ice machine, office equipment, etc.
• Food handling operations
• Familiar with the OSHA-MSDS sheets and procedures
• Knowledge of fire and safety procedures
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
