Maplewood at Newtown LLC in Newtown, CT is seeking a part-time Dining Room Server to work 4:00-7:30 PM. You will support residents and guests by delivering an outstanding dining experience in a home-like senior living environment.

Responsibilities include setting up, serving, cleaning dining areas, and maintaining sanitary conditions. Prior kitchen exposure is helpful; English proficiency and teamwork are essential. Maplewood offers competitive wages and flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience is desirable.
• Basic knife skills required.
• Basic reading, writing and spoken English required.
• Familiar with food handling operations.
• Knowledge of fire and safety procedures.
• OSHA-MSDS procedures familiarity.

• Set up, service, and clean dining room(s) and ensure a pleasant dining experience.
• Follow posted schedule and maintain appropriate attire.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen areas and cooperate with residents and coworkers.
• Operate kitchen appliances (dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine).
• Assist with food preparation, inventory, and shelving as needed.

The Dining Room Server plays an integral role in delivering an outstanding customer experience for residents
and guests. The Dining Room Server is responsible for assisting in the set-up, service, and cleaning of the dining room (s)
and in ensuring the dining experience is enjoyable, timely, and engaging for residents and guests.

Primary Responsibilities

• Follows the posted work schedule and arrives on time and in appropriate work attire
• Responsible for maintaining the kitchen and other assigned area in a sanitary manner
• Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers and residents
• Must be familiar with food handling procedures and regulations
• Must know how to operate kitchen appliances such as the dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker and ice machine
• May be required to help with food preparation, inventory, maintenance as well food deliveries and shelve stock

Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification

• Some kitchen experience is desirable, basic knife skills required
• Operation of kitchen appliances such as a microwave, coffee maker, ice machine, office equipment, etc.
• Food handling operations
• Familiar with the OSHA-MSDS sheets and procedures
• Knowledge of fire and safety procedures
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
