Job summary

Devon Seafood + Steak in Hershey is seeking a part-time server to provide attentive hospitality and ensure an exceptional dining experience. You will take orders, guide guests through the menu, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining room.

Flexibility with schedule is required, and perks include free Hersheypark admission, free parking, and discounts on food and shopping. RAMP certification is required to ensure safe service standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must obtain RAMP certification.

Responsibilities

• Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
• Ensure food safety in line with Department of Agriculture regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Monitor tables and check in on guests to ensure satisfaction and address issues.
• Adhere to alcohol rules and guidelines per RAMP.
• Maintain dining room cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Engage with customers in a friendly manner and anticipate their needs.
• Complete payment of all guest checks and finalize all financial transactions.
• Perform side work, setup, and closing duties.

This position is responsible for anticipating and providing for guests' needs in the timely service of their dining experience while delivering the Art of Hospitality with a positive and friendly attitude using their own style and personality.

Job Functions (Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):

• Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.*
• Work within the Department of Agriculture Regulations to ensure food safety is being met. Identify potential issues before they reach the customer.*
• Maintain knowledge of the food and beverage menu, in order to answer guest questions and make recommendations as needed.*
• Monitor assigned tables and check in on guests to ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.*
• Adhere to all alcohol rules and guidelines as taught by RAMP; ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.*
• Maintain dining room cleanliness, table manicuring, and overall dining room housekeeping.*
• Engage with customers in a friendly manner while anticipating their needs.*
• Complete payment of all guest checks and finalize all financial transactions.*
• Perform side work, set up, and closing duties as assigned*

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must obtain RAMP certification

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• As a member of the team, a server should know and follow policies and procedures and have strong interpersonal skills that would enable them to verbally communicate in a positive manner with co-workers, guests, and the general public.
• Able to read, write, and perform addition/subtraction calculations
• Able to remember abbreviations and menu items.

Job Demands

• Flexible schedule is required, including days, evenings, split shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical requirements include walking and standing most of the shift; stooping; bending; pushing; lifting up to 25 pounds; and working outdoors.
• Able to see at a distance (20 feet), at close range ( 12 inches), distinguish between shapes, and utilize peripheral vision to avoid potential hazards.
• Able to hear in one or both ears so that verbal communication can be received, understood, and acted upon.
• Use body parts, usually fingers and hands, able to distinguish between sharp/dull, and hot/cold.
• Able to control and utilize fingers to write, use POS register, slice, chop, and operate equipment.
• Able to bend, handle, carry, lift, reach, wipe, climb and stoop.
• Able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours.
• Proper footwear must be provided by employee.
