Job summary

Columbia Hospitality is seeking a seasonal Server at Hotel Zoso in Palm Springs to deliver exceptional dining experiences. You will take orders, serve meals and beverages, and assist guests with menu recommendations, upsell specialties, and ensure guest satisfaction.

The role emphasizes meticulous service, knowledge of current menu items, hygiene standards, and effective collaboration with the culinary team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as server in a restaurant.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations.
• State Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s) as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Takes orders and serves food and beverages to guests per established standards.
• Enters orders into the POS system and communicates special requests to kitchen/culinary team.
• Assembles and presents food items with attractive plating.
• Ensures items are served at correct temperatures and presented consistently.
• Maintains knowledge of menu offerings and any changes or sold-out items.
• Processes guest payments using proper cash handling procedures.
• Keeps dining area clean and organized.

What Success Looks Like:

Your Impact

• Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards
• Enters orders into computerized Point of Sale system and communicates any special requests to the culinary team
• Assembles food items, such as appetizers, salads and soups
• Ensures attractive, consistent presentation of food and beverages. Ensures that all food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature
• Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items
• Processes guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures
• Keeps work area, including guest dining area, clean and organized

What You Bring

• Previous experience as server in a similar restaurant environment
• Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system
• Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures
• Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations
• Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s)
