Job summary

Lancesoft is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer to join our Austin lab. You will validate server platforms, configure systems (CPU, DIMMs, OS), and perform hardware/software bring-up.

The role includes debugging, log analysis, and documentation, with opportunities to apply AI-assisted methods to accelerate troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hardware validation experience, familiarity with PC/server hardware, and proficiency in Windows and Linux.

Qualifications

• AAS in Electrical/Computer Engineering required.
• BS/BE/MS in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years in hardware validation or lab environments.
• Familiar with PC/server hardware and DDR awareness a plus.
• Windows and Linux OS installation and configuration experience.
• Basic Python scripting or automation knowledge.
• Understanding of hardware debugging and log analysis.
• Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware and software validation testing on server platforms.
• Build, configure, and bring up systems (CPU, DIMMs, OS/software setup).
• Install, swap, and validate CPUs, memory, and components.
• Debug and triage issues; analyze logs to identify root causes.
• Support hardware debugging and failure analysis in a lab.
• Use Python/Linux tools and AI-assisted methods to improve debugging.
• Leverage Generative AI tools for log analysis, scripting and documentation.
• Explore AI-driven workflows to automate repetitive tasks.
• Maintain lab inventory, systems, and equipment status.
• Document test procedures, findings and results clearly.
• Communicate progress, issues, and elevated risks as needed.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
