Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH is seeking a Hardware Engineer II to design, test and validate next-generation server platforms for Akamai's CDN and Cloud Compute. The role requires hands-on hardware bring-up, collaboration with manufacturing and engineering teams, and maintaining test scripts.

You will work on hardware architectures, Linux-based scripting, embedded systems debugging, and stay current with Ethernet, PCIe, NVMe, DDR and GPU technologies. On-site in Cambridge, MA five days a week.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant hardware/engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and scripting.
• Experience with lab tools for debugging embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Test next-generation server hardware platforms for performance, power and reliability.
• Document results, identify defects and propose improvements.
• Diagnose hardware issues with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Develop, maintain and enhance test scripts for hardware features.
• Stay up-to-date with computing, networking, storage and hardware acceleration techs.
