Position Summary

You will be responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.

Assist the cook in the preparation and service of meals, ensuring scheduled meal times are met following established policies and procedures within the dietary department to ensure residents receive the highest quality of service.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist cook/supervisor with food preparation and service using specific procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Deliver residents’ meal carts, set and clean assigned dining areas to serve residents.
  • Accurately record temperatures on refrigerators; clean and stock as needed.
  • Wash and store dishes, adhering to sanitation and maintenance standards of the kitchen.
  • Be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 1 year food service experience preferred
  • Fluent in English, including reading, writing, and speaking
  • Ability to communicate clearly to all levels within the community
  • Desire and commitment to work with geriatric residents, understanding their specific needs
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assignments
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • ServSafe certification is desirable

Education Requirement

High school diploma or GED

Additional Information

Shift: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM with weekend availability. Hourly wage: $13 - $15.00 per hour.
