Job summary

The Server at Covenant Woods in Mechanicsville, VA will provide exceptional hospitality and dining services to residents, guests, and visitors, delivering high-quality American Table Service.

Responsibilities include taking and entering orders in POS, delivering meals on time, maintaining clean dining areas, and collaborating with culinary and dining services to ensure guest satisfaction. This full-time role requires scheduling flexibility and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 60 days, funded by Covenant Woods.
• Minimum of six months serving experience in a restaurant, hospitality, healthcare, country club, hotel, or senior living environment.
• Experience using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
• Experience in a Continuing Care and Retirement Community (CCRC) or healthcare setting is highly desirable.

• Collaborates with culinary and Dining Services to ensure high-quality service and resident satisfaction.
• Follows all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations and completes opening/closing duties and special events.
• Attends departmental meetings and trainings and maintains a professional approach.
• Performs additional duties to support operations and resident satisfaction.

FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITY

Pay Range: $15.00–$21.00 per hour, based on years of experience

Shift Available: 11:00am - 7:30pm (Sundays 10:30am -3:00pm)

Schedule: Flexibility is needed but the main schedule is below:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

Available Opportunities: This full-time opening will be located in our "Traditions" restaurant within Covenant Woods

JOB SUMMARY:

The Server is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality and dining services to residents, guests, and visitors by delivering a high-quality dining experience through professional American Table Service. The Server supports Front-of-house operations by ensuring accurate order taking, timely food delivery, resident satisfaction, and adherence to Covenant Woods hospitality, safety, and service standards. This position plays a key role in creating a warm, welcoming, and restaurant-quality dining environment while embodying the Covenant Woods Promise in every interaction. Embraces and models Covenant Woods business standards, Code of Conduct, and focuses on the Promise in all aspects of delivery of service.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides exceptional customer service and professional American Table Service to residents, guests, and team members in accordance with Covenant Woods hospitality and service standards; greets and engages residents and guests promptly and courteously.
• Accurately takes and enters food and beverage orders into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and serves food and beverages according to established service, presentation, quality, and timing standards.
• Maintains knowledge of menu offerings, daily specials, ingredients, and beverage selections; anticipates resident and guest needs and responds proactively to requests, concerns, and feedback.
• Sets, clears, and resets tables according to dining room standards and maintains clean, organized, and sanitary dining rooms, service stations, and work areas.
• Collaborates with culinary and Dining Services team members to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality service and contributes to an exceptional resident dining experience.
• Follows all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and Virginia Department of Health (VDH) regulations and completes assigned opening, closing, side work, and special event duties.
• Attends required departmental meetings and training programs; maintains a professional and service-focused approach.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations and resident satisfaction.
