Job summary

Covenant Woods is seeking a bartender to deliver exceptional beverage service and hospitality in the Fireside restaurant. You will prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ensure responsible alcohol service, and maintain a clean bar area in a continuing care community setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, standards, portion guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Verifies age requirements and practices responsible alcohol service.
• Maintains knowledge of beverage menus and daily features; processes orders through POS.
• Stocks, replenishes, and stores beverages, glassware, and supplies; assists with inventory counts.

Pay Range: $16.00–$27.00 per hour, based on years of experience

Shift Available: 11:15am - 7:45pm

Schedule: Flexibility is needed but the main schedule is below:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

JOB SUMMARY:

The Bartender provides exceptional beverage service and hospitality to residents, guests, and visitors while creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. This position prepares and serves alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages in accordance with Covenant Woods standards, maintains a clean and organized bar area, and ensures responsible alcohol service. The Bartender contributes to resident satisfaction by delivering excellent customer service, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and supporting the overall success of dining services operations. Embraces and models Covenant Woods business standards, Code of Conduct, and focuses on the Promise in all aspects of delivery of service.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides exceptional customer service and hospitality to residents, guests, and team members while maintaining professional communication and positive relationships.
• Prepares and serves alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages according to recipes, standards, portion guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Verifies age requirements, practices responsible alcohol service, monitors guest consumption, and appropriately addresses or escalates concerns.
• Maintains knowledge of beverage menus, wine, beer, specialty cocktails, and daily features while accurately processing orders through the POS system.
• Stocks, replenishes, organizes, and properly stores beverages, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies; assists with inventory counts and product rotation.
• Maintains clean, organized, and sanitary bar and service areas while following all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and VDH requirements.
• Supports dining operations, catered events, holiday functions, community celebrations, and special programs as assigned.
• Communicates resident feedback and operational concerns to Dining Services leadership, maintains required appearance and uniform standards, attends required meetings and training.

• Perform any additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations and resident satisfaction.
