Job summary

MMD Services, Inc. is seeking a Windows Engineer to maintain a large-scale Windows environment, diagnose authentication failures, outages, and implement automation to reduce toil. The role emphasizes automation to scale provisioning with Ansible Tower.

You will manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Services across multiple regions, patch management, and security. Collaboration with a global team is essential, with hybrid onsite/remote work in Houston.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience.
• Solid Windows Server (2016+) chops.
• Strong Active Directory fundamentals across DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Certificate Services.
• Comfort with automation written with Ansible playbooks and CLI.
• PowerShell scripting ability and familiarity with enterprise monitoring platforms like SCOM, Zabbix, and SCCM.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi expertise; Nutanix/Hyper-V familiarity is a bonus.
• Understanding of Azure IaaS to support and troubleshoot.
• Collaborative, professional presence in a global team.
• Adaptability and coachability in a fast-moving environment.
• Degree optional; what you’ve built matters more.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a large-scale Windows environment and diagnose authentication failures, access issues, and outages.
• Develop automation to reduce toil using Ansible Tower for provisioning and configuration at scale.
• Manage AD, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Services across multiple regions.
• Patch management, vulnerability remediation, and performance monitoring with enterprise tooling.
• Support Azure IaaS operations such as VMs, RBAC, backup, and DR.
• Own health and performance of VMware vSphere/ESXi platform.
• Participate in on-call rotations and monthly maintenance windows.

We are partnering with a globally recognized, multi-billion dollar law firm that has built a reputation as a leader in their field to hire for a Windows Engineer. Their on-premises environment is the backbone of global operations, and this team is at the center of it all.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Keep a large-scale Windows environment running smoothly, diagnosing everything from authentication failures and access issues to full system outages
• Build and maintain automation that actually reduces toil, writing and refining Ansible playbooks through Ansible Tower to streamline provisioning and configuration at scale
• Manage identify and access infrastructure including managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Services across a complex, multi-region environment
• Keep the environment secure and compliant through proactive vulnerability remediation, patch management, and performance monitoring via enterprise tooling
• Play a supporting role in Azure IaaS operations VMs, RBAC, backup, and disaster recovery as a complement to the core on-prem workload
• Own the health and performance of a sprawling VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualization platform, this is the heartbeat of the infrastructure and the primary focus of your day-to-day work
• Step up during on-call windows (rotating every 8 weeks) and monthly maintenance windows to keep global operations running without interruption

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience, ideally in environments running thousands of servers
• Solid Windows Server (2016+) chops
• Strong Active Directory fundamentals across DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Certificate Services
• Comfort with infrastructure automation you've written or worked extensively with Ansible playbooks and aren't afraid of the command line
• PowerShell scripting ability and familiarity with enterprise monitoring platforms like SCOM, Zabbix, and SCCM
• VMware vSphere/ESXi exposure, you know this platform deeply and can troubleshoot, optimize, and scale it with confidence; Nutanix or Hyper-V familiarity is a bonus
• A working understanding of Azure IaaS enough to support and troubleshoot, not necessarily architect
